Parkland Performance™ produces the finest wall, floor, and ceiling coverings available. These beautiful, durable, and 100% waterproof materials will last a lifetime with minimal maintenance. Lasting so many years without deterioration requires using Parkland adhesives to hold the panels in place while exposed to years of heavy activity, equipment collisions, and plenty of moisture during their lifetime.
Parkland Wall Panel Adhesive
What makes Parkland Product’s adhesives so durable?
Available in 2 or 5-gallon pails, Parkland’s wall panel adhesive is a high-strength material specifically used for installing Parkland wall coverings on sealed drywall, concrete, concrete block, aluminum, OSB, plywood, DensArmor Plus®, and Greenboard.
A single 2-gallon drum will spread easily with a trowel and covers approximately 250 square feet of wall space.
The material is freeze-thaw stable and heat-resistant to 150°F. It is also non-flammable, easy to clean with water, and contains no VOC (Volatile Organic Compound). These features ensure it is safe to use in any building.
Applying Parkland Panel Adhesive
Parkland Panel Adhesive is a ready-to-use, water-based, and pressure-sensitive adhesive designed for most wall-covering applications. This product has a very aggressive tack and great freeze-thaw stability.
Follow the instructions closely for a long-lasting application.
Parkland Panel Adhesive should be applied evenly onto substrates using a 1/8” or 1/16th inch notched trowel. The smaller trowel may be used for smoother substrates, while the larger one is best for rough surfaces.
During application, joints between panel sheets must be loose and unforced to allow for expansion. These gaps can be filled with colored caulk if you choose to later on. Parkland’s Panel Adhesive can be stored for a full year in an unopened container in a cool, dry environment.
Instructions Before Application
All substrates must be sound, clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, wax, and loose paint. Incompatible curing compounds or fire-retardant chemicals, fungicides, release agents, sealers, or other foreign substances can impact the development of a good bond.
Remember, before starting, PLAS-TEX® or FRP panels must be stored flat. Do not lean against a wall, as they can develop a permanent curve. If using rolled material, precut pieces and flatten them with weights or reverse roll for at least 24 hours before installation to remove the “roll set.”
Porous substrates such as drywall and concrete block should be painted or sealed with oil, acrylic, or rubber-based products.
Polyvinylacetate-based (PC Ac) products could re-emulsify upon contact with this water-based adhesive, thereby preventing proper adhesion. Thus, walls covered by a PV Ac joint compound must also be sealed with oil, acrylic, or rubber-based primer. Make sure all surfaces are completely dry before applying adhesive.
Four-Step Application Process
Once these initial steps have been dealt with, it is time to apply Parkland Adhesive to your substrate. Follow these four steps:
- Spread the adhesive over the entire substrate with your trowel.
- Wait until the adhesive turns from milky to clear. This indicates that it is ready to bond.
- Press the panel into place.
- Using a roller, roll from the middle to the outside of the panel to ensure that it is firmly adhered to the wall and any bubbles are removed.
