Horizontal Wainscot

By using the Parkland Performance Polymax Wainscot plank system, you can create a rustic farmhouse feel in any room. The planks are available in two sizes; 6”x36” and 6”x96” and are reversible. One side of the plank system has three grooves to look like three planks just under 2” each, and the other has two at just under 3”. The plank system is easy to install with the tongue-and-groove design. It is also paintable, allowing you to customize the design to your liking.

Finally, the Polymax Wainscot plank system is 100% waterproof, making it suitable for any room in the house.

To install yourself, start by checking that the wall is square to the floor. If the floor is not square to the wall, use a laser level to find the lowest point and draw a horizontal line for your starting point. You can then use a baseboard to conceal the difference in height at the end of the project. Make sure to measure the wall height and length to ensure you have the right amount of plank panels. Plank panels can be cut to length using a saw. Work plank by plank, checking that it is level after installing each plank section. Follow the installation instructions from the Parkland Performance install guide and always use the recommended adhesive.

Chevron Wainscot

Using the Polymax Wainscot plank system mentioned above, you can also create a chevron pattern by cutting and installing on an angle. To begin installing, you must first find the center of the wall and mark it using a laser level. Then prepare your planks by cutting one end at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw. Then, measure the length you want and cut the other end using a parallel 45-degree angle. Once you have all of your planks cut, you can begin installing. Remember, chevron patterns match tip to tip, so use a laser level to keep the first column or line straight.
